Moser leaves SBPD...

Edited for clarification. I read about Moser resigning on halifaxtalk. I didn't read that he was going to the HCSO on halifaxtalk. That was my own conjecture. Regardless, I wish him the best. Lord knows we need his canine unit on the force around here no matter where it is.

I read over on my favorite forum that Todd Moser has resigned from the South Boston Police Department. All the posters are stepping lightly around the subject, but I'll go ahead and say it.

Moser will go to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office to fill the position vacated by David Irby.

This is just another step in Noblin's plan to offer jobs to those people who supported him in his election campaign. Anyone remember who else appeared in the campaign materials with Noblin?

I'm not sure how I feel about this turn of events. On one hand, I reeks of a 'good old boy's club' deal; and on the other hand if I were in Noblin's position I would probably surround myself with loyal deputies, as well.

Another question: Does anyone know of David Irby supported either candidate throughout the campaign?

Would you mind quoting what you read on Halifax Talk that told you that Todd had resigned? I can't find it anywhere and there are too many places to look!

Didnt get irbys spot? I think he did....

Moser got a choice to leave didnt he...Doubt we ever get the truth on what happened there....

Didnt womack start at the HCSO about 6 weeks ago?

Im pretty sure he did.

That means Irby basically took Womacks slot at HPD right? Irby just started at hpd 2 weeks ago.

SO where is the politcal mess at?

I think womack wanted out of hpd, and irby wanted in.....

Anonymous,

That may all be true.

I'd also be willing to bet that Moser ends up at the HCSO.

Anonymous said...

Ill take that bet. It wont happen......that my opinion, but its backed by facts.....

So, where is Moser headed?

Anonymous said...

He will not be in law enforcement for some time if ever again, as his resignation at SBPD was not voluntary.

If Sheriff Noblin Hires him, that would be truly stupid.

I predict next in line is either
Stuart Comer, or
Freddie Edmunds, or
that black lady officer at the SBPD (I do not know her name)

all of those were in the the election campaign picture with Noblin

Anonymous said...

Nope nope and nope on those names listed....

There are no slots open right now.

Comer didnt get a sniff in the last hiring process.

Edmunds makes too much cash to leave sobo.

Garner is just not needed, due to the fact that there are no openings...

My two cents...

There are others rumored to be coming to the HCSO. No jobs are open right now.

They have two that will attend the academy here pretty soon........

Anonymous said...

So who else is linked to noblin that will get jobs?

Anonymous said...

Eugene Short?

Ray Link?

Ernest Powell?

Ronnie Edmunds?

Shoot I cant remember the other people in that picture...

Wow. Those are some interesting theories. Anyone want to step up and substantiate them?

Anonymous said...

"substantiate them"
Looks like they can't - what a bunch of crap - this place is worse than a hunting shack full of drunks - no truth to be told here!

Scuttlebutt has it that Moser was having personal 'meetings' while on duty.

He did get the job with Animal Control.

Another K-9 unit that the citizens have paid for is now relegated to pet status. Work harder, people! The government needs more tax money to waste!

I hear Irby was replaced at the sheriff's office by a rookie with no experience by the name of Nunn. I think he's Lottie Nunn's son.
Womack left HPD weeks before Irby left the sheriff's office. Having the Oakes sign in his yard meant Irby would probably never get promoted by Noblin. I'm surpised Noblin didn't give him walking papers along with Pulliam.

As for Moser, he was an experienced cop with a drug dog. They're hard to come by. I don't think Noblin will hire him because of his flare for being too honest and too vocal. Moser will speak his mind regardless of the consequences.
I hear Pulliam got on at Duke University as a campus cop. I also saw Oakes driving a Bridgeview truck last week.

I agree that Moser might be too vocal, but not too honest (no such thing, and I'd bet his wife would disagree). He will eventually be back at HCSO, it's just going to take a while for Noblin to make it happen. He has a lot of favors left to repay from the campaign and he can't do them all at the same time.

I hate that we have lost a trained K-9 unit. We taxpayers really got their money's worth in that deal, didn't we?

Oakes and Anthony Welch(owner of Bridgeview) are good friends. Nothing wrong with him helping out until the investigation is over and Jeff can get another job in law enforcement.

I had heard that Pulliam was working in North Carolina, but I hadn't heard that it was a job with Duke. I'll do a little investigation work on that. Thanks for the tip.

Irby might have had a HUGE Oakes sign in his yard but I wouldn't bet the bank he supported ole jeffy. Can we say playing both sides of the fence or suckin both a.......'s

I know a lot of people in the cop world, and I don't picture Irby as much of a butt kisser. I can name about 5 that are, and I bet the same ones that kissed Jeff's butt are now kissing Stanley's. Any deputy that had a sign in their yard was probably asked by one candidate or the other to put one there. I know I wouldn't put up anybody's sign if I worked there.

I know a lot of the people in the "cop world" also.........
I think there was major butt kissing. The ones there now are much happier.
Sing in yard equals employment if the sing is of the one who wins.

Anonymous said...

As far as the butt kissing goes. I dont think there is much butt kissing left to go around with Stanley. There is maybe one left down there that kisses his rear.

I really dont see Stanley as being as foolish with that crap.

And yeah Irby played both sides, as did others in the election.

putting a sign in your yard if you work there is stupid, no matter what side you supported

Anonymous said...

Butt kissing? There is no room for butt kissing in politics.

Anonymous said...

Regarding the comment about no room for butt kissing in politics.

It is all good. According to Sheriff Noblin there is no room for politics in sheriffing. He claims to not be in a political office. ha ha ha ha

So his but can still be kissed.

And I am very sure it is!
