I have never seen so many rude people in my whole life. I went to get some answers, and I left empty-handed and even more confused than before. I have been trying to read up on uranium mining, but I don't have a lot of time. Even with my limited knowledge of the subject, I knew for a fact that the presenters and moderator and chairman were wrong!
Jeffrey Johnston was misinterpreting James Beard's thesis in front of God and everybody. How do I know? James Beard was in the audience and called him out on it!
I used to think the SCC was a group of conscientious environmental activists... but then I met them. That Nenon woman is a charicature of herself. It seems to me she likes to hear herself speak because on several occasions, out of context, she took the mic and told us horror stories from the 1980s. She never even commented on the 1990s or 2000... just the early 1980s, around the time I was born. I know a lot has changed for me since then!
The panel of "experts" dodged questions and kept repeating the same things over and over until people finally gave up. It was propaganda in seminar's clothing, and I was thoroughly disappointed.
Then that Chaney fellow on their blog had the audacity to criticize the paper for interviewing Norm Reynolds, the geologist from VUI. This meeting was held, conveniently, while many of the scientists from VUI are out of town for educational conferences.
I would like to see an ACTUAL panel of real experts from both sides give presentations... this meeting on Wednesday wasted everyone's time.
Wow! Thanks for posting your experience. I had assumed that their meeting was a giant ego stroking, war chanting, back slapping pow wow, and it looks like I was right.
